Episode #60 – Alefest with Joe Waizmann

In celebration of next week Dayton Beer Week http://daytonbeerweek.com, Mike and Greg welcome to the show Joe Waizmann, founder of Dayton’s AleFest!

On August 22nd, Joe along with the Mayor of the City of Dayton, Gary Leitzell will be walking in Dayton’s Beer Pride Parade which starts at Thai9 and ends four blocks later at the Dublin Pub (of course).

Accompanying Joe on our show is none other than Tipp City’s beer purveyor Rod Martino, owner of Miami Valley Wine and Spirits. Both Rod and Joe brought several craft beers to taste on the show. A surprise guest included Scott Nicholson (the long haired dude) from Miami Valley Wine and Spirits. Scott blew us all away with his knowledge of beers as well as his sophisticated palate.

Tipp City residents should tune in to KIT-TV Channel 5 tonight at 9PM to watch as Greg and I taste great craft beers like Chimay, Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, Dragons Milk (from the breast of a mommy dragon of course), and a 19% alcohol home-brewed Double IPA (which tasted a bit like a stinky running shoe). Beer virgins beware, this show is not for the timid of palate.

Greg and I will be joining Joe Waizmann and Scott Nicholson at the culmination of Beer Week in Dayton the 12th annual AleFest!

AleFest is held at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton from 2:00-6:00PM, the festival will be showcasing over 350 different craft beers to the public. This year they plan to have about 4,500 beer fans in attendance. Tickets are sold at Miami Valley Wine and Spirits and are $35.00 advance and $40.00 the day of the event so get yours now! Keep your eyes peeled to Get Social facebook posts, as we will be giving away tickets this week!
